New DVD

Título Saint Saens e Carnaval- versão clara

An irresistable DVD with a visual illustration of  Saint-Saëns’s masterpiece.

Composed in February 1886 when the composer enjoyed his holidays in a small Austrian village, his aim was to make a parody-style critique of the Parisian musical scene at the end of the 19th century.

Saint Saëns never allowed the work to be published during his lifetime with the exception of the Swan number, as he felt that it could undermine the seriousness of his reputation as a composer.

The work that contains several references to other composers, has become one of the most appreciated of young audiences by the magnificent collection of animals portrayed and the genius of musical ideas.
