ZECA

Zeca was an abandoned black and white puppy that came as a baby to our team. He was supposed to take part in an opera – Il Barbieri di Siviglia – by Rossini, as an extra, at the National Opera House.

He was so funny that the whole team and cast became immediately enchanted with him. When it was necessary to start rehearsing for the show, he simply refused to go on stage … … but he stayed with us for the rest of his days.

All his life was spent in theaters and concert halls, rehearsing studios , wardrobe and scenery workshops.
He was constantly traveling by car and plane, was a regular customer of hotels and the best restaurants in town, and became the most beloved mascot in the world.

Whenever there were special performances for children, Zeca received the public and was worshiped by all.

Great and famous artists tried to win his affection but it was he who decided whether or not they could become his friends.

Those who have had the privilege of knowing Zeca, can never forget him.

In honor of his irreplaceable personality and sweetest character we have created his Club for the youngest and their families.

A very funny story copy

In a performnace at the Grand Auditorium of the Cultural Center of Belém, when the maestro Harry Christophers entered to the orchestra pit in front of the stage to begin the show, as usual, the audience sat down and there was general silence in the hall. The atmosphere was really intense.

The lights slowly went down and only one very intense light stood in the center of the main yellow velvet curtain.

At this point, as I was sitting at the end of the Auditorium behind the audience, inside the lighting box, I begun to identify the tiny presence of Zeca appearing right in the light spot, staring at the audience in search of me. I could not believe it!!!!

Very embarassed, through the intercom I wispered to my stage manager to fetch him immediately, and … suddenly, we all saw Zeca being swallowed from behind the curtain.

THE PUBLIC WAS SIMPLY DELIGHTED!!!
